Carson Dance for SJUSD logo
Political organizations endorse politicians.

Major political parties and organizations are making endorsements in many races, so they rely on their existing political networks rather than fact-finding about the unique issues in each race.

The people and donors supporting me come from San Jose Unified schools.

Not from PACs, the ulta-wealthy, lobbyists, and others who interests are not aligned with best outcomes for our students. (Surprised that happens in school board races? Me too!)

Vanessa Marvin, former Trace PTO President

Carson does not offer theoretical solutions; she possesses the direct, actionable insight required to bridge the gap between district decision-making and the lived reality of our schools. To me, Carson’s experience makes her a candidate who is prepared to address the complex challenges facing the San Jose Unified School District with both analytical depth and a genuine dedication to the welfare of the school community.

David Gomez, Lincoln High School Teacher

As someone who attended San José Unified schools, worked in special education at Lincoln High School for over 25 years, and now has children attending Bachrodt Elementary and Hoover Middle School, this district has been a part of my life for decades. I believe our district needs leadership that listens to the community, values the perspectives of educators and families, and keeps students at the center of its decisions. After speaking with Carson on several occasions and learning more about her campaign, I’m proud to support Carson Dance for the San José Unified School District Board of Education.

"Carson is the right choice to be our voice on the SJUSD Board of Trustees. Especially after the Schools of Tomorrow process that closed so many schools with so little accountability and transparency, we need a leader like Carson who is motivated and ready to be available, responsive, and accountable to us, the people who live in and send our children to be educated in SJUSD"

Ladonna Martinez, Bachrodt Elementary Teacher

"Carson Dance is THE candidate I support for Trustee Area 2! Carson will fight to keep our schools functioning & open. She is the only candidate who will hold the district accountable, as a Board of Trustee should do. Carson advocates for all SJUSD Kindergarten classrooms to have an IA. Carson is the only choice for Board of Trustee Area 2."

Emma Siemasko, One of a Kind Advocacy

Carson is extremely civically minded and committed to making choices based on thoughtful reasoning rather than what’s easiest or what has been done in the past. Carson understands the complex nature of policy-making and budgets and has spent her time on the PTO trying to create institutional solutions to problems. She is willing to spend the time researching and learning why things are the way they are and what constrains decision-making.

I recommend Carson Dance for SJUSD Trustee Area 2 because she has a long record as a highly motivated problem solver within SJUSD schools.  I have known Carson for 4 years through her leadership at Trace Elementary, and believe she is extremely knowledgeable, collaborative, and will work to improve SJUSD’s relationship with its students and families while also pragmatically improving educational outcomes for all students.

"Carson has been an active advocate for our students for years. I appreciate her willingness to speak out and take a stand to improve our school system. I trust her and am happy to support her this fall."
